Receiver headsets have to be rented, handed out and collected back, and a few always disappear. Using the phone every attendee is already holding removes that entire process.
How it works
- 1Turn on "audience QR streaming" in the presentation settings and start the talk.
- 2Press "Audience QR" in the toolbar and the code fills the screen.
- 3Attendees scan it with the phone camera and a browser opens. No app, no login.
- 4They pick a language once and that language keeps flowing. The choice is remembered, so stepping away and coming back does not ask again.
What an attendee can do
- Switch language at any time from the flag button
- Adjust the type size for their eyesight and their seat
- Show the original underneath the translation
What is exposed, and what is not
The only thing the audience can see is the subtitles already on the screen. The note body, the attendee list and everything else in the workspace stay private.
The identifier in the link is the permission. It is not guessable, but if the event is not public, show the QR only inside the venue. Ending the presentation flips the broadcast to "ended" and no further subtitles are sent.
From the floor
- Putting the QR up one minute before a session starts raises the join rate sharply.
- Printing the same code on seat cards or in the programme lets latecomers join without help.
- If the venue Wi-Fi is shaky, tell people the screen is the main channel and the QR is the backup.
