How minutes are counted

  • Only time the recording or presentation actually ran is deducted. Time spent waiting or paused is not counted.
  • A language with AI voice switched on uses two extra minutes per minute. Unlike a subtitle-only language (+20%), it means putting a separate AI interpreter on stage for that language — and it speaks for longer than it listens.
  • Each additional language deducts 20% more. Recognition, speaker separation and summarisation run once regardless of language count; translation is the only part that scales.
  • The order is free minutes, then promotion passes, then passes you bought — whatever expires first is spent first.
  • Free minutes reset on the 1st of each month (KST) and do not carry over. Purchased passes stay until their expiry date.

How this differs from an interpretation booth

This is not a replacement for interpreters. It exists so events too small for a booth can still be multilingual.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI voice interpretation, and what does it cost?+

It lets your audience listen on earphones instead of reading subtitles. An AI speaks what the presenter said in that language, and if the presenter switches languages mid-talk the listener keeps hearing the one they chose. With several presenters, each is assigned a distinct voice that stays the same all session. Pricing: each language with AI voice on deducts two extra minutes per minute (a subtitle-only language is +20%). Up to four languages at once, and the deduction only starts once somebody is actually listening to that language — a language you offered but nobody chose costs nothing.

If 100 people listen, is it 100× the price?+

No. The AI interprets once per language. One Korean listener or a thousand is the same Korean channel and the same deduction. What sets the price is how many languages are running at once, never how many people are in the room.

Is there a monthly subscription?+

No. Events do not happen every month but subscriptions bill every month. Buy the minutes you need, spend what you use, and a month you do not use it costs nothing. Personal accounts get 40 minutes free every month.

Why do organisation workspaces get no free minutes?+

The free 40 minutes exist so one person can genuinely try the product. Granting the same to an organisation would mean free minutes multiplied by inviting people, so organisations are excluded. An organisation buys a pass or uses one from a promotion link.

Does using several languages multiply the price?+

Each language adds 20%. Eight languages at once is 2.6×, not 8×, because recognition, speaker separation and AI summarisation happen once no matter how many languages you asked for — translation is the only part that scales. That percentage is for subtitles — a language with AI voice switched on adds a further two minutes per minute.

Do passes expire?+

The 100-minute pass lasts 180 days; the 300- and 1,000-minute passes last 365 days. Promotion passes vary by promotion and the expiry is shown when you receive them.

Which is spent first, free minutes or a pass?+

Whatever expires first. Free minutes (gone at month end), then promotion passes (dated), then purchased passes. Within promotion passes the nearest expiry goes first, so a pass you were given does not quietly lapse.

How many languages can be translated at once?+

More than thirty are supported — Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), French, German, Spanish, Arabic and others — and up to eight can be displayed at once in one talk. The screen divides itself by language count, so three or eight both fill it without spilling.

Does the audience need to install an app?+

No. They scan the QR on the presentation screen with a phone camera, a browser opens, and picking a language starts the subtitles. No login either. Audience size does not affect how many minutes are deducted.

Our speaker mixes Korean and English — is that a problem?+

You can select several spoken languages, and the flag on the original panel changes with the detected language. Spoken languages count towards the language total for billing. Automatic identification does cost some accuracy and latency compared with naming one language.

Do you support association-wide programmes for member companies?+

Yes. We issue a promotion link for an association or group, and member companies redeem a pass once each. Capacity and expiry are configurable. Write to develop@amuz.co.kr.

How are recordings and transcripts stored?+

Access is controlled by workspace role and per-note permission, and every access is re-checked by server-side security rules. The only thing audience QR exposes is the subtitles already on screen; note bodies and attendee information are not published.
